Another delightful place we found ourselves was at Chef Richard Reddington's 'Redd'.
The restaurant was very busy, the first reservation we could get was at 9:30, but they called us and moved it to 9:00. The place was packed, but it was well executed and cozy. White table cloths and rich dark wood created a delightful environment. There was a multitude of options on the menu that sounded wonderful. There seemed to be a bit of an Italian influence on the offerings.
I ordered coffee, of course it was excellent. My husband ordered the Yellowfin tuna tartar. It was accompanied by Asian pear, avocado, chili oil, fried rice and cilantro. I chose the Carnaroli risotto with Maine lobster, Meyer lemon confit, and truffle oil.
The tartar was very good-fresh flavors came to life with every bite. The lobster was very delicious, and all of the flavors in the risotto were beautifully complementary, but the risotto itself was a bit chewy. All in all it was very good, and I was not disappointed in the least.
Unfortunately, we didn't have room for dessert. The menu has a wonderful combination of classic favorite with updated ideas. The same goes for the dessert menu, complete with items like S'mores- Chocolate panna cotta, graham streusel and marshmallow. Our bill arrived with a tiny bite of toffee and a raspberry truffle. I would definitely go back again and try more items on the menu.
